Where the client started
The client is a leading German multinational software company specializing in enterprise solutions for business operations and customer relationship management. Headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, it is a global market leader in enterprise application software, serving over 425,000 customers across more than 180 countries through an extensive international presence.
The client’s multiple business units and acquired entities were maintaining disparate legacy O2C systems (CRM/SD order-based billing), which were complex and plagued by operational inefficiencies. Due to this, the client was facing a couple of challenges such as:

No unified platform to manage cloud licenses and acquired product portfolios

What we built
To modernize its legacy platform including streamlining and automating its billing processes, the client was exploring a couple of SAP solutions from reputed vendors including ACI Infotech. Considering the capabilities and experience in implementing similar solutions globally, the client selected ACI Infotech as its preferred partner to mitigate its billing inefficiencies, while offering a cost-effective solution to automate complex billing processes.
Accordingly, ACI infotech proposed the SAP BRIM as an ideal platform to execute complex usage-based billing for cloud products on a pay per usage basis including handling recurring billing for a volume business.
As part of this engagement, ACI Infotech has established a strong SAP BRIM competency addressing immediate delivery requirements, while building a future-ready talent bench for future rollouts. Apart from that, ACI enabled end-to-end monetization for the cloud business unit by leveraging the full SAP BRIM suite (SOM, CC, CI, FICA) and integrating with CPQ, from opportunity management through billing.
Buoyed by the success of the digital transformation project of the client’s cloud business unit, ACI executed a phased migration strategy for other business units. This led to smooth transition from CRM/SD order-based billing to a unified SAP BRIM platform.
