BI Project Manager - Remote/Hybrid - Hyderabad
Responsible for overseeing and managing the implementation of business intelligence projects within an organization.
Work closely with stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and data analysts, to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Project Planning: Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
2. Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting needs. Translate business requirements into technical specifications for the BI team.
3. Team Management: Lead a team of data analysts, developers, and other project resources. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
4. Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights. Use data visualization tools to present findings to stakeholders.
5. Technical Expertise: Possess a strong understanding of BI tools, data warehousing concepts, and data integration techniques. Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in the BI field.
6. Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate effective communication between business stakeholders, IT teams, and project resources. Provide regular project updates, address concerns, and manage expectations.
7. Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data and reports generated by the BI system. Conduct thorough testing and validation to identify and resolve any issues.
8. Change Management: Implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new BI solutions. Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the utilization of BI tools.
9. Project Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, requirements, design documents, and user manuals. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
10. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the BI project lifecycle. Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects.
Requirements for a BI Project Manager typically include:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing BI projects, preferably in a project management role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and data modeling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
